Language for You

About

My name is Mark R. Stoneman. In the process of teaching history at Georgetown University (Washington, DC) and George Mason University (Fairfax, Virginia), I have spent a lot of time correcting student essays. I began writing about some of these issues for my history students, but I decided it would be useful to pursue this project further on a blog devoted to language. This blog is for my students and anyone else who would like to improve their writing skills.

Outside of university I have taught English to non-native speakers for many years. This blog is for them too. Currently I am working at LADO in Washington, DC, and I offer private instruction. Past schools I have worked for include Berlitz (Washington, DC), Viva Sprachkurse (Augsburg, Germany), and Sprachstudio Lingua Nova (Munich, Germany).
